Been downloading videos of Neil Peart from Rush and all I can say is "Fuck". My God, does that guy have four arms or something? That extended live solo on YYZ... insans is an understatement. I haven't played my drums in a long time though. Just lost inspiration. I don't think my dad's played them recently either. He influenced the jazz in my style. I was a rock drummer, but after listening to him, I seem to have developed a bit of a rock/jazz fusion. Although I can't believe that he hasn't played in 20 years and is still good. I wouldn't exactly call him Gene Krupa, but he's still pretty good. I just went for 9 years without playing and I had to start from scratch again. But yet, I'm not that good. I'm more of an artist than a muso. I wish I hadn't performed open heart surgery on my guitar.
